Finding an Approved Tent for Your Booth

Tents aren't included with your space and must meet fire code. Here are the approved sizes, the requirements, and how WNP can help.

Finding the right tent is one of the most common challenges organizations face, so each year — supply permitting — Washtenaw Non-Profits offers 6×6 tents for sale. These tents are approved by Washtenaw Non-Profits and the City of Ann Arbor for use at the Art Fair.

Booth configurations

You can set up in one of three ways:

  • Single: 6 ft × 6 ft
  • Double: 10 ft × 10 ft
  • Two singles: 6 ft × 12 ft

What every tent needs

  • Fire-retardant fabric. Either buy a tent made with fire-retardant fabric, or apply a fire-retardant spray to the tent you have. This is a fire-code requirement — see Rule 5 and the WNP Fire Rules.
  • Tent weights. Weights are mandatory. Wind at the fair can pick up an unsecured tent, and you are responsible for your tent at all times.

Buying through WNP

Tent inventory is limited each year and sells quickly. If you'd like to buy a WNP-approved 6×6 tent, watch your email and our social channels — the purchase link is sent out when stock arrives, and it doesn't last long.

A covering isn't strictly required, but it is strongly recommended: July weather in Ann Arbor is unpredictable, and a tent protects both your volunteers and your materials.
